La Primitiva is a Spanish lottery, which dates back to 1763. It was created as a way to raise new funds for the treasury without having to introduce new taxes. La Primitiva lottery draws were suspended in 1862 and resumed only in 1985. Initially, draws took place only on Thursdays, but an additional Saturday draw was introduced in 1990. The bonus number (Reintegro) draw was introduced a year later.

La Primitiva rules
La Primitiva is a classic 6/49 lottery, meaning the player picks 6 numbers within 1 to 49 range. A bonus Reintegro number is added automatically to the ticket, ranging from 0 to 9. During the draw, 6 main numbers, one additional and the Reintegro number.
Players who decide to get a traditional paper ticket can choose the green La Primitiva ticket, allowing to participate in the nearest draw or a brown one for both Thursday and Saturday draws.
To claim the jackpot, the player needs to pick 6 main numbers and the Reintegro number. There are 7 prize tiers in La Primitiva. The player gets €1 refund if his ticket includes the drawn Reintegro number. If the player picks 3 main numbers correctly, he receives a €8 prize.
Players in Spain can use the additional „Joker“ option. It requires checking the appropriate box on the paper ticket, and the printing machine will assign o a unique number from 0.000.000 to 9.999.999 to the ticket. Thanks to the additional ‚Joker‘ draw, players have the chance to win extra from € 10 up to € 1,000,000. The „Joker” option is not available while playing online.
